HOLLYWOOD NOIR WALKING TOUR

Esotouric invites you to sleuth out noir landmarks in the heart of Hollywood, on a walking tour featuring iconic filming locations and some of the real life crimes, scandals and uniquely L.A. characters that inspired the directors and screenwriters, in the fascinating mixed use neighborhood around Hollywood and Western.
On this tour, packed with seedy tales and cinema classics spanning the 1940s-1990s, you’ll thrill to the true crime and movie industry Easter eggs that Billy Wilder and Raymond Chandler hid in “Double Indemnity,” admire cafeteria king Clifford Clinton’s lovely Spanish Colonial Revival home and hear how it was bombed by dirty cops working for City Hall racketeers, peep into Black Dahlia murder victim Beth Short’s lonely crash pad life and discover how with a little clever set dressing, a historic bank in Thai Town stood in for a mid-century Hollywood premiere in “L.A. Confidential.”
Plus tales of cinema censors and the sly screenwriters who outsmarted them, the sleazy XXX porno district, SRO hotels, teenage runaways, poets, assassins, dreamers and schemers who left their sometimes greasy marks on the Hollywood Noir district.
This walking tour is illustrated with rare images you can view on your smartphone.
